• Numbers, characters, images, or other method of recording, in a form which can be assessed by a human or (especially) input into a computer, stored and processed there, or transmitted on some digital channel.^[1]

• Any information stored on a computer.^{[2] [3]}

• A general phrase for all information (facts, numbers, letters, graphics, etc.) that can be processed by a computer.^[4]

• Information stored on the computer system and used by applications to accomplish tasks.^[5]
