• When files are stored on a computer system's hard disk, a "mirror" copy is made on an additional hard disk or a separate part of the same disk to safeguard information in case of disaster.^[1]

• A method of data backup that copies or “mirrors” each saved file on a hard disk onto a second hard disk.^[2]
