A process of transmitting documents by scanning them to digital, converting to analog, transmitting over phone lines and reversing the process at the other end and printing. "Group 3" indicates the 3rd generation of faxes which transmits a page at 9600 baud in about a minute – with a normal resolution of 203 x 98 dpi and a fine resolution of 203 x 196.[1]
