Random Access Memory

• The hardware inside a computer that retains memory on a short-term basis and stores information while the user utilizes the computer.^{[1] [2]}

• The main memory of the computer, where active software and temporary files are stored and most of the computer’s work is performed. Data stored in RAM are temporarily stored and are lost when the computer is turned off.^[3]

• Memory which can be read or written in any section with one instruction sequence.^[4]

• The working memory of the computer into which application programs can be loaded and executed.^[5]
