• Any set of instructions stored on computer-readable media that tells a computer what to do. Includes operating systems and software applications.^{[1] [2]}

• A series of files containing instructions to the computer for performing functions. A software “program” contains the instructions to accept data in certain formats.^[3]

• Coded instructions (programs) that make a computer do useful work.^[4]
