EDRM Update – April 2015

EDRM Update\r\nIssue 20 – April 2015\r\n\r\nThe EDRM Spring Workshop is set for May 4-6. This semi-annual face-to-face meeting open to all EDRM members is a “not to miss” event. If you or your organization are not yet an EDRM member, now is the time to join. Help shape plans for the coming year and meet or reconnect with your peers in eDiscovery and Information Governance. We look forward to seeing you again, getting a lot done, and (although we can’t make any promises) enjoying some good weather.\r\n\r\nCheck out our recently added resources, which include:\r\n

\r\nRegards,\r\n\r\nGeorge Socha & Tom Gelbmann\r\n\r\n

April 2015 Highlights

\r\nOn April 15, we and ACEDS hosted a free webinar, “The Social Media Quick Peek: Early Data Assessment,” with speakers Canaan Himmelbaum, Dera Nevin, Jason Pill, and Andy Wilson. The recording is available here.\r\n\r\nOn April 23, we hosted a free EDRM webinar, “Using Ringtail to Modernize Keyword Search for Efficiency & Better Discovery Outcomes,” sponsored by FTI Consulting. The recording, featuring speakers JR Jenkins and Jason Ray, is available here.\r\n\r\nOn April 28-29, we were at Ipro Innovations 2015, co-sponsored by EDRM.\r\n\r\nIn April we began sending EDRM Weekly updates – once-a-week updates on upcoming webinars and meetings and new resources. Post EDRM Weekly updates are available here.\r\n\r\n

Member Profile of the Month

\r\nKit BrightKit Bright\r\n\r\nSenior Coordinator – Electronic Records, Information Management\r\n\r\nGibson Energy\r\n\r\nMember since June 2014\r\n\r\nI joined the EDRM in 2014 for the reference models, specifically the EDRM and IGRM models. I was asked to participate with the IGRM Viewpoint Paper at that time. As the only RIM practitioner (with over 30+ years),  I brought a different perspective to the paper and this opened great lines of communication with the team and with my IS team at Gibson.  I use the diagrams in my “marketing” of programs at Gibson.   We are a cross-border company and we are currently working on finalizing the eDiscovery process in-house so I will again be looking to EDRM for resources.\r\n\r\n
