Culling

Definition(s)

The practice of narrowing a larger data set to a smaller data set for the purposes of review, based on objective criteria (such as file types or date restrictors), or subjective criteria (such as Keyword Search Terms). Documents that do not match the criteria are excluded from the search and from further review. 1
