False Negative

Definition(s)

  • A Relevant Document that is Missed (i.e., incorrectly identified as Non-Relevant) by a search or review effort. Also known as a Miss. 1
  • One of four response states in a categorization task. True positive responses are those that are truly in the positive category and are classified as negative. 2
