Definition(s)

  • The number of halftone dots that can be printed per inch. As a general rule, newspapers print at 65 to 85 lpi, large city newspapers at 100 or 120 lpi; magazines at 133 or 150 lpi; and, glossy, “coffee table” books at 175 to 200.  1
