Media

Definition(s)

  • The physical material used to store electronic data. Media includes hard drives, backup tapes, computer disks, CDs, DVDs, PDAs, memory, etc. 1 2
  • Any external data store format, such as CDs, Jaz drives, DLT tapes, DVDs, or diskettes received from clients containing source data. 3
  • The material (disk drive, tape, floppy disk, paper, etc.) on which electronic documents have been recorded.
