Supervised Learning


  • A Machine Learning method in which the learning Algorithm infers how to distinguish between Relevant and Non-Relevant Documents using a Training Set. Supervised Learning can be a stand-alone process, or used repeatedly in an Active Learning process. 1
  • A kind of machine learning where the objects are labeled by an exterior source, typically, a subject matter expert. The goal of supervised learning is typically to replicate the decision pattern of the outside expert and apply the same patterns to previously unseen objects. 2
