EDRM Update – January 2015

EDRM Update\r\nIssue 17 – January 2015\r\n

Welcome to the January 2015 issue of EDRM Update!

\r\nFebruary 2, 2015 – The EDRM community started 2015 strong with new tools and updated content. EDRM project teams completed several initiatives in December and early January that are now ready for release. Thanks go out to the working groups for their many contributions.\r\n\r\nEDRM membership growth continued at the brisk pace we saw in 2014, as we welcomed 8 new organizations. Additionally, EDRM’s new sponsorship programs for 2015 are attracting support, including Ipro, as the first Premier Sponsor of EDRM. Our sponsorship programs were updated to offer greater value and flexibility to our partners.\r\n\r\nThe Affinity Partnership with ACEDS, effective March 1, is another example of new ways to provide value to our members.\r\n\r\nPlease take a look at January’s highlights below.\r\n\r\nRegards,\r\n\r\nGeorge Socha & Tom Gelbmann\r\n\r\nTo receive the newsletter, subscribe to our list\r\n[contentblock id=1344]\r\n\r\n[toc]\r\n\r\n

Member Profile of the MonthSheri Towne

\r\nV. Sheri Towne\r\n\r\nOwner, Practical Paralegal LLC; Graduate Student, Colorado State University (M.Ed., May 2015)\r\n\r\nEDRM Member since 2012\r\n\r\nEDRM Projects & Committees:  Metrics – Metrics Model, Budget Calculators, eMSAT\r\n\r\nWhy I’m an EDRM member: Over my 28+ years of litigation and trial experience, I cut my teeth on finding and implementing practical solutions for a variety of discovery challenges – from paper to digital, small to large. Discovering the EDRM in 2006 was like finding a “Rosetta Stone” for translating real-world eDiscovery and Information management problem sets into a common language for generating creative, positive and practical solutions.  The Metrics Project core concept — “You cannot manage what you do not understand” – really resonated with me. Discovering the wonderfully supportive and collaborative process of working with other EDRM members to refine and expand the Metrics Model and related projects has been challenging, rewarding and fun.  I am just sorry it took so long to for me to jump in and participate! Education, teaching and learning are personal passions. Helping the Metrics Project effectively reach the larger world of diverse eDiscovery practice communities and engage those communities in dialogues about best practices, practical solutions and future needs feeds all those passions.\r\n\r\n
